Naka Cave Beung Kan
Tham Nakha is a cave that was discovered around 2020 by a group of tourists who were disciples of Phra Ajarn Winij Sumetro from Wat Tham Chai Mongkol who recorded images of eroded rocks with patterns resembling fish scales or snake scales. The curvature of the rocks made the overall shape look like the coils of a large snake or Naga. They posted those images on social media and the news spread according to personal beliefs until it became famous.
It is believed that the snake-shaped rocks may be giant snakes that died and turned into stone hundreds of millions of years ago. When the giant snake died and had not yet rotted, it was buried in soil and rocks for millions of years until minerals settled in the snake's body and turned into stone. This ties in with the local legend that Ong U Lue used to live there, as a king who was cursed to become a Naga, causing the city to collapse and become Bueng Khong Long. Ong U Lue would be freed from the curse only when a new city was born. It is currently believed that this city is located in Bueng Khong Long, Bueng Kan Province.

Nakee Cave (Na Korn Pra Nom)
“Nakee Cave” has discovered the wonder of the mountain rocks that look like snake scales, no different from “Naga Cave” which is famous in Bueng Khong Long District, Bueng Kan Province. However, “Nakee Cave” has been surveyed in Ban Phaeng District, which is the same mountain. If we compare them, the two caves are on opposite sides. The officers of Phu Langka National Park named this cave “Nakee Cave”. Importantly, it is equally beautiful. It is also connected to the legend of the belief of both caves, which is the Naga or giant snake that was cursed to turn into stone because it has the shape of a giant snake with beautiful scales, winding along the valley. In some places, it looks like a giant snake’s head. The villagers consider it a sacred land. If anyone does something bad, they will encounter mysterious things. The appearance of “Nakee Cave” is similar to “Naga Cave”. There is a large rock shelter with a pattern of Naga scales on the surface of the rock (similar to Naga Cave). There is a large rock that looks like a snake’s head not far away. In addition, if you travel for another half kilometer, there is a viewpoint called “Pha Nakee” which is a beautiful viewpoint of the Mekong River. It has become a point of interest for the public and tourists. There is also a short distance to the path. Walk from Phu Langka National Park for only about 2 kilometers, but it is an adventure trail along the forest and climb the monkey stairs for about 200 meters before going up to see the view on the top of the mountain, "Nakhi Cave". Along the way, you will also be able to admire the beauty of nature, flowers, and various forests.

Legend of Grandfather U-Luen Naga
Details: According to the legend of Grandfather U-Luen that is related to Bueng Khong Long, it is believed that it was caused by the collapse of the city of the Naga, which was caused by the unrequited love between the Naga and humans, causing the prosperous city to collapse. This area was originally the location of a city named Ratthaphanakorn, with Phra U-Luen Raja as the ruler. His queen was Nang Kaewkanlaya, and he had a daughter named Phra Nang Khiaw Kham. Later, he married King Sam Phan Ta and had a son named Prince Farung, who was intelligent, knowledgeable, and handsome. At the time of his birth, the sky was bright. Later, he married Nakharinthrani, the daughter of the Naga King of the underwater city who transformed into a human. The wedding was held on a grand scale, both in the underwater city and the human city (Rattaphanakorn), for 7 days and 7 nights, to create a friendly relationship between the Naga King and King U-Luen Raja on this occasion. The two lived together for 3 years but could not have anyone to carry on the family line (because of the elements of humans and nagas). This caused them to be very sad. Later, Princess Nakarinthrani fell ill, causing her human body to turn back into a naga. The news spread throughout Rattanakosin. Even though she chanted a spell to return to being a human, the people and King U-Lue were not happy. They drove Nang Nakarinthrani back to the underworld and notified the Naga King to come and take her back. Before leaving, the Naga King asked for the family regalia back, but King U-Lue was unable to return them because he had transformed them into something else. This made the Naga King very angry and he announced that he would destroy Rattanakosin and leave only 3 temples. After the Naga King left, at night, the Naga King led his troops to attack Rattanakosin, and no one could escape the Naga’s power. When Nang Nakarinthrani heard the news, she went up to look for Prince Farung. She reached the Songkhram River but could not find him, so she returned to the underworld. The city of Rattanakosin was destroyed and became "Bueng Long Khong". Later, the word became Khong Long. The remaining 3 temples are Wat Don Kaew (Wat Kaew Fa), Wat Don Pho (Wat Phosat), and Wat Don Sawan (Wat Daen Sawan). The route that Nang Nakharinthrani went to find Prince Farung was Huai Nam Mao (Drunk Love). As for Phra U Lue Racha, he did not die in this incident. Instead, he was captured by Phraya Nakarat, who cursed Phra U Lue Racha to transform into a naga and guard Bueng Khong Long forever until a new city was born in this land. Then the curse of Phraya Nakarat would be lifted.

Muang Hueng Temple, Bueng Kan (วัดป่าเมืองเหือง)
The oldest temple in Bueng Kan, built since the Khmer era, stands out with its golden church surrounded by Naga serpents. In front, there are statues of Grandfather Sri Sutho and Grandmother Sri Pathumma for the descendants of the Naga to pay homage and ask for blessings. But what is unseen in Thailand is the “Phra Na Na Thong” or “Phra Phuttha Nak Nimit”, a Buddha statue that is only golden on the face, while the whole body is black. The creator of the Buddha statue said that a Naga came to him in a dream and asked him to build a Buddha statue at this temple. So he prayed for money to buy a Benz within three months and then he would build a Buddha statue for him. Later, within less than a month, his business miraculously made a lot of profit, which led to the creation of the Phra Na Na Thong.
